Get Involved
There are a number of different ways you can get involved in the Spark! School Book Awards, whether you're an publisher, author or illustrator, teacher, parent, pupil or just an interested party. We'd love to have you on board.
Publishers, authors and illustrators
We love reading new books and we really hope you'll make a submission for the chance to win a Spark! Book Award this year. It's so easy to do and you can find all the relevant information on our dedicated publishers page.
Schools, teachers and librarians
Choosing to participate in our awards gives you far more than just the opportunity for your children to vote for the winners. Not only will we give you a set of the shortlisted books but we'll also give you access to unique Spark! discounts, online author events and even the chance for your staff to join our shortlisting panels. For a full list of what's included, and to register for the awards, head over to our schools page.
Children and parents
You have the most important job of all - to read! It doesn't matter where or what you read, although we would definitely recommend starting with our shortlists (and longlists). Don't be afraid to check out the books from the other age categories too.
We'll be launching brand new competitions in the new year, after we have revealed our shortlists. We can't wait to receive your entries and see how you've responded to the books.
Don't forgot to vote for your favourite book and help us decide the winners of the Spark! Book Awards. We'll open the vote in the summer term and all votes must come to us via your school.
Anyone and everyone
Over the last three years we have raised just under £9,000, which we've used to gift over 1,500 copies of our shortlisted books to children with less access to them, via our Book Fund. Please help us to reach as many children as possible.
