Spark! Mark
What is the Spark! mark?
The Spark! Mark is our school accreditation recognizing institutions that actively promote reading for pleasure through engagement with the Spark! Book Awards.
Schools can achieve different levels of accreditation, starting with Bronze, by participating in activities such as entering competitions, sharing on social media, attending author events, and more.
Accredited schools will receive a certificate, a website badge, and public recognition for their commitment to fostering a reading culture.
How do I apply?
To achieve these accreditations, participating schools can consider engaging with our awards by:
entered one of our competitions with your pupil entries;
sent five or more social media posts using the @sparkbookaward Bluesky, X, Facebook or other social media handle;
submitted a short 2-minute recommendation video to our ‘Buzz’s Book Club’ series.
attended an author livestream, having submitted questions for your pupils to ask.
contributed a video to our Winners’ Ceremony livestream;
ran your own competition at your school, related to the longlist, or shortlist;
